Our Mission

From compassion to action.

The Cuba Compassion Project exists for one reason: to ensure the most vulnerable people in Cuba do not go unseen, unfed, or forgotten. We are a Florida-based nonprofit founded by Cuban Americans who know this reality personally and refuse to look away.

In Cuba today, millions face a hunger crisis without a safety net. Families are trapped in a cycle of 18-hour power outages that leave them in total darkness, unable to cook food or keep life-saving medicine cold. With hyperinflation driving food costs up by over 400%, a single carton of eggs can cost an elderly person more than half of their monthly pension.

Children go to bed hungry. Families survive in homes without running water or access to basic medicine. These are not just statistics. They are real people, and they are the reason we exist.

Our model is simple: we deliver aid person-to-person and door-to-door, with zero bureaucracy and zero waste. We ensure every dollar of support is transformed into essential supplies delivered directly into the hands of those who need it most. It is the only way to be certain the aid actually arrives.

We serve the abandoned, the elderly, the sick, and the children of Cuba because we believe that every human life has dignity. That belief is the foundation of everything we do.

What We Do

How We Deliver
Relief.

We take what you give and put it exactly where it needs to go. No detours. Just people helping people.

Your Generosity Sets It in Motion

Grassroots donations fund the direct purchase of food, medicine, and essential goods. Every dollar is treated as a lifeline. We transform your contributions into tangible supplies, leveraging trusted logistics partners and direct channels to ensure that aid bypasses hurdles and reaches the island quickly.

We Identify the Greatest Need

While the struggle in Cuba is universal, some families are facing conditions five times worse than the average. Through our trusted volunteer network on the ground, we personally identify those going through the hardest times, specifically those with no other support. We coordinate every detail to ensure the delivery is carried out door-to-door and hand-to-hand.

Relief Arrives

This is what it all comes down to. The moment a door opens and a family that had nothing now has a meal, medicine, or a reason to hope. We document every delivery so you can witness the real, life-changing difference you made possible.

Real Stories

Every door. Every face.

We document every delivery so you can witness the real, life-changing difference your generosity makes possible.

Legal & FAQ

What is the Cuba Compassion Project?

The Cuba Compassion Project is a people-powered, grassroots humanitarian initiative founded on a fundamental belief: no one should ever go hungry or lack access to essential medicine. We are ordinary, compassionate individuals uniting to support impoverished children and families in Cuba who are struggling to survive. Our work is grounded in compassion, dignity, and the direct provision of aid to those most in need.

Are you connected to the Cuban government?

No. We are fully independent. The Cuba Compassion Project has no affiliation with, support from, or connection to the Cuban government, any political party, or any state institution. Our sole purpose is to assist people, not governments.

Who do you help?

We assist real families and individuals who are poor, elderly, ill, or unable to meet their most basic needs. We prioritize those who are not prohibited officials as defined by U.S. regulations. Many of those we help lack family members abroad and are therefore particularly vulnerable. Our primary focus is on families and children who are simply trying to survive with dignity.

Is it legal to send humanitarian aid to Cuba?

Yes. Providing food, medicine, and other humanitarian support to civilians in Cuba is permitted under U.S. law when carried out in accordance with applicable regulations. The Cuba Compassion Project complies fully with all relevant U.S. government requirements and operates under established humanitarian authorizations designed to alleviate human suffering.

How does U.S. law allow this?

U.S. regulations explicitly recognize the importance of humanitarian aid. Clear provisions permit humanitarian projects, donations, and monetary gifts intended to support Cuban civilians, provided the assistance does not reach government officials or prohibited entities. Our activities fall squarely within these humanitarian exemptions.

Do you follow U.S. sanctions and compliance rules?

Yes. We adhere to them rigorously. Compliance safeguards both our mission and the individuals we serve. We screen recipients, monitor the use of funds, and ensure that all aid is directed exclusively toward humanitarian relief. Transparency and accountability are fundamental to our operations.

Is this a political organization?

No. We are strictly non-political. We have no party affiliation and do not promote any government, ideology, or political movement. Our mission is purely humanitarian. We respond to human need, hunger, illness, and hardship, regardless of politics.

How are donations used?

Every dollar is used to provide food, medicine, and essential supplies to families in need. Donations are never used to support governments, political organizations, or any purpose outside our humanitarian mission.

Are you a registered nonprofit?

Yes. The Cuba Compassion Project is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization recognized by the Internal Revenue Service. Contributions are tax-deductible to the fullest extent permitted by law.

How do you ensure help actually reaches people?

We emphasize direct, community-based support and personal accountability. Trusted, independent volunteers assist with project implementation and delivery of aid. While conditions in Cuba present significant challenges, we take every reasonable measure to ensure aid reaches its intended recipients ethically and respectfully. We document all projects thoroughly with photos and videos.

Are there challenges or delays?

Yes. Humanitarian work in such an environment is inherently complex. Shortages, transportation difficulties, and infrastructure limitations can cause delays. Nevertheless, we remain steadfast in our commitment to continue the work and provide assistance to the greatest extent possible.

Why do you do this?

We are driven by a deep human calling to show kindness and maintain our shared humanity. In a world where hardship often prevails, we strive to demonstrate that compassion still exists. Some of us are motivated by faith, others by a simple belief in doing good, and many by a personal sense of purpose. We believe that doing good is always the answer and that compassion should transcend borders and politics.

Is this legal or tax advice?

No. This FAQ is intended solely to explain who we are and why we undertake this work. For specific legal or tax-related questions, donors should consult their own qualified advisors.
